When it comes to peeling potatoes, using a conventional peeler can be a time-consuming and boring task. Thankfully, the ever-popular YouTuber Dave Hax is back with a quick and simple trick to show you a speedy way to peel your potatoes.
Whether he’s teaching us how to how to poach your eggs just right or cut potatoes at the speed of light, Hax has plenty of cool, time-saving tricks for your kitchen.
In this demonstration, he explains how you can turn the chore of potato-peeling from a messy job into a fast trick — and it’s much easier than you may think. The secret? A bowl of icy water.
After you boil the sliced potatoes for about 10 minutes, you drench them in cold water. When the potatoes are cool enough to handle, you can pick them up, and the skin will simply peel away with just the slightest pressure from your hands.
Pretty cool, huh? I just love a really simple kitchen tip that produces great results. All these years I’ve been cooking and I never knew this! I can tell you that I will never peel another potato with a peeler again after watching this video. Will you try this at home?
Brilliant scenery. Thanks for these images…….:)
