Donuts are easily one of the yummiest treats on the face of the Earth. They may not exactly be all that good for you, but they are just so tasty. Especially when they’re fresh out of the oven, warm, and toasty in your hand. And when the filling oozes out just a little bit as you take your first bite? Mmmm… Okay, I’m hungry now.
But what if you could make the ever-popular donut holes (or, as Dunkin’ Donuts calls them, “munchkins”) at home? You’d like that, right? Well, what if I told you that you could make them and it wouldn’t take you more than about three minutes to do it? Are you running to the kitchen yet? I know I am!
In the below video by POPSUGAR Food, you’ll see just how you can make your very own donut holes at home in less time than it takes to warm up the car to actually go to the donut shop.
All you need is a can of store-bought biscuit dough, oil for frying, and a 1/4-cup of sugar. You can add a bunch of additional toppings if you’d like, but if you just want the basic donut holes, the above is all you’ll need.
Crack open that can of biscuit dough and cut each biscuit into four equal sections. Then, all you have to do is drop each portion of the biscuit dough into the hot oil and fry them for about three minutes. You can do this in a large pot on the stove or in a deep fryer, but there’s more explicit directions on the video’s description if you need them.
After they’ve fried for three minutes and turned golden brown, take them out and drop them on some paper towels to drain some of that grease. Then, you just drop them into a mixing bowl, add your sugar, and roll them around until they’re coated. It’s that easy!
I’ve been eating Dunkin’ Munchkins since I was a little kid, so seeing this video has me so excited to try making my own version of the treat. I hope you’ll try it, too!
