With Snickers and Milky Way bars readily available, candy has lost a little bit of its specialness. That’s why homemade candy — that you only get a few times a year — holds a special place in my heart. This next recipe is truly a blast from the past, and the kind of tasty old-fashioned treat that reminds me of home.
This time, Chef John is whipping up another delectable recipe called Peach Gelee Candy. It’s simple and sweet and will leave your family and friends drooling for more.
To make this treat, start by combining peaches and lime juice in a blender and puree until very smooth. Then, stir in sugar and pectin. After about 15 minutes, pour the peach puree into the prepared baking dish, cover, and refrigerate overnight (or at least eight hours). In the morning, you can cut the candies into squares and sprinkle with sugar. It’s that easy!
