As the novel coronavirus pandemic threw the world into utter chaos—shutting-down countries and bringing normal human lives to a standstill—an unexpected silver lining arrived in the form of temporary freedom these lockdowns offered the wildlife. With humans quarantined in their own homes, nature was handed a free reign, and several animal species were spotted wandering the otherwise bustling urban streets.
However, these lockdowns and travel restrictions, while necessary, have also had an adverse impact on wildlife conservation, the full-blown effects of which have been felt at the Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, East Africa.
A stop on tourism has affected foreign revenue, jobs, and more importantly, the mechanism for conservation sustainability. In an attempt to overcome this issue, the Serengeti Safari Team has come together to showcase the sheer beauty and diversity of the Park, in the hopes of building awareness and rekindling the thirst to explore within people once again.
To take a virtual tour of the Serengeti and help them with their conservation efforts, you can subscribe to their YouTube channel here! And to check out its beauty in pictures, here’s a mind-boggling collection of photos from depths of Tanzania:
