I‘ve never met a woman who hasn’t dreamed of walking down the aisle on her wedding someday at some point in life.

However, as we’ve seen in this heartbreaking story of this young bride, walking down the aisle doesn’t come easy for every woman…especially in the (nearly) tragic story of Jennifer Darmon.

In the summer of 2008, Jennifer was on a road trip with friends in Ontario when their van was hit by an oncoming car. Out of the 7 people in the car, Jennifer was the only person hurt and she was hurt badly.

Jennifer was instantly paralyzed from the waist down in the crash. Her boyfriend, Mike Belawitz, was by her side and knew what had happened, but he refused to leave Jennifer’s side and fell head-over-heels with her never-ending optimism and strength. Mike proposed back in 2010 and again he stood by her side, bringing her to physical therapy appointment located hours away from their home.

Jennifer was determined to walk down the aisle at her wedding, and although doctors said it was impossible, Jennifer refused to listen. After years of intensive physical therapy and multiple surgeries, Jennifer was ready. With help from her father and brother — and titanium leg braces — Jennifer walked down the aisle to the perfect song, “Walk With You,” by Edwin McCain.
